Message from The Principal

Posted on: 3rd Dec 2019

The majority of students have been issued their new name badge today and re-registered their fingerprint, after an ICT update. Those who have not, will do later this week, or when they are back from an absence.

The badges contain their name and tutor group on the front and Minimum Expected Grades on the back. The lanyard is in their house colour:
Spode - Red
Gladstone - Blue
Bridgewater - Green
Wedgwood - White

It is an expectation that students wear their badges in the building, but is at their discretion whether they wear them to and from the Academy. We do advise that they keep them in a safe place overnight (as they do with their tie) and remember to wear them every day.

They will help develop a strong house identity, which is proven to raise standards in schools, and improve their understanding of their minimum expected grades, which will aid them in fulfilling their academic potential. They will also prepare students for later life, as the majority of colleges and employers do now have identity badges.
