Theology
The study of belief, religious or otherwise, is vital to understanding what it means to be human. It is concerned with how humanity makes sense of its origins, purpose and destiny in relation to the divine. It requires an inquiring mind open to new ways of thinking. It offers broad training in how to think critically, logically and with empathy. Studying religious and secular beliefs provides students with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the modern world and and their place in it. Regular opportunities are planned to discuss, present and write about a range of religious, philosophical, moral and ethical issues, including the nature of God, the debate between science and religion and the importance of preventing racism.
