Earlier today, the Year 9 & 10 Boys Rugby Team played the Academy's first ever rugby fixture. Over the last 12 months, Coach Martin Almond from Trentham Rugby Club has been working with students on Thursday evenings at the Academy. The group has grown over this time and we now regularly get around 15 students from all years attending the sessions. From this, a number of our Year 9 & 10 boys now play for Trentham Rugby Club.

As part of the development of rugby at the Academy, 9 of our students went to Trentham Academy and joined with some of their students to form 2 teams. After the game, Martin said 'All the lads acquitted themselves brilliantly, never stopped playing or tackling their hearts out and were a credit to the Academy'. The game ended 22.12 to Trentham. Good effort boys!!

The Academy rugby club (Thursdays 3pm-4pm) is open to all students, both boys and girls and Mrs Gethin helps with the younger students.
