St Peter’s CofE Academy (SPA) would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Morrisons in Milehouse for their kind and generous donation to our Academy Foodbank.  SPA foodbank provides practical support for families within our school community who are maybe finding life a little tough at present.

Whilst purchasing items for our Academy Foodbank in Morrisons today I was blown away by the kindness of the Morrisons staff….. from the moment I arrived I was met by a very helpful security gentleman who allowed me access into the store in order for me to enquire whether or not I was able to bulk buy certain items….. I was then offered further assistance and was kindly told that they would assist in any way they could. Later, as I was filling the trolley, I got talking to a lovely young man who was happily stocking shelves…. as we continued to chat amongst the pasta, at a socially acceptable distance of course, he informed me that Morrisons always likes to support the community…...and with that he walked purposefully away and said ‘ I’ll go and see what we can do’….. what a fantastic advocate for the store! Later by the tills the size of my trolly was attracting further curiosity and I soon got chatting again to several of the cashiers about how people are ‘pulling together’ and showing tremendous generosity in this crisis. ….. within minutes I was introduced to the very lovely Katie Adams who is Morrisons Community Champion. She was extremely helpful said that she would be more than happy to contribute to the work we are doing in the community.

The kindness didn’t end there….I started to panic about how I was going to get all these items in my little two door Tigra…… the lady serving me said she was about to go off duty and offered to drop the shopping off for me!!! 

Today was more than a just a ‘shopping trip’ – today was an example of human kindness and true community spirit.
