There are few things more rewarding as a Principal than having a teacher invite you into their class unannounced to encourage their students to present and talk about what they are doing in that lesson or subject.

That exact thing happened today when Mrs Cummings invited me into her Year 9 class. The fabulous work I had the pleasure of viewing was a combination of both drawing and sewing in the same piece. I was also impressed by how the students could eloquently explain how the pieces had been made.

I returned to my office to find a beautifully crafted metal squirrel that a student had brought up to show me from Mr Townshend’s class this morning, which also put a big smile on my face.
