Year 9 Visit to Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre

Posted on: 3rd Feb 2020

Last week, a group of Year 9 students attended Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre for 2 days. The main aims of the trip was to improve student confidence, teamwork and co-operation as well as overall mental health.

Over the 2 days, the students took part in activities such as crate stacking, archery, high ropes (including the parachute jump), bouldering/scrambling in the Roaches, air rifle shooting and axe throwing.

The students were amazing from the start! Their willingness to help one another was really pleasing to see and their communication improved massively throughout the trip. Students pushed their limits (especially with heights) and had a huge sense of satisfaction when they tried some of the 'scarier' activities. Everyone was full of encouragement for each other and helped one another when someone was hesitant in taking part.

The trip was a huge success with the students wanting to go back (some even wanted to stay!).

Well done to all the students involved, Mr Proffitt

Students:

Deeland Barber, Aiden Cotton, Corey Gaunt, Cody Hughes, Rebeka Illes, Callum Podmore, Chloeann Machin, Ellie Salmon, Kieran Simmons, Ryan Till, Natalia Turtakova
